Terms and Conditions
The “Service” provided and invoiced by Alec Wright Guest Lodge includes, but is not limited to, the reservation of a room for a specific date for a particular customer and/or providing the agreed upon room and additional services as confirmed on the invoice.
To avoid any misunderstanding, a booking confirmed by a voucher, pre-payment or emailed invoice constitutes a binding contract.
We require full pre-payment to secure your booking.
Accommodation might be cancelled automatically if the pre-payment is not received within two days of making the booking – but this does not resolve the customer of any liabilities regarding its obligation relating to payment for the service provided as stated in the first paragraph above, or timeous notification of cancellation or changes to the booking.
DEPOSIT TO CONFIRM BOOKING & BALANCE OF BOOKING FEE
We require a 50% deposit from guests to secure a reservation.
All accounts to be settled on arrival.

The person/individual that makes the initial booking will be deemed the responsible person for settling the account and no third party correspondence will be entered into.
Rates are quoted in South African Rand and are exclusive of VAT, if applicable. Rates are subject to confirmation and availability and may change without prior notice. Reservations are subject to terms and conditions on check-in.
PAYMENTS TO THIRD PARTIES
We do not pay third parties for any other services on your behalf. If monies are deposited into our account incorrectly we do not refund until cleared with our bank and will only refund directly into the original payer’ account, less any banking and transaction fees.
We accept MasterCard and Visa credit/debit cards and cash. We may not accept any foreign currency.
The Terms and Conditions of this booking are deemed to be accepted on receipt of the voucher, purchase order, emailed confirmation or invoice, or Credit Card details for Authorised Manual Transaction payment.
CANCELLATIONS
No show or early departure forfeits 100% of total stay.
Cancellations 1 days or less prior forfeit 100% of total stay.
Cancellations 5 days prior forfeit 75% of total stay.
Cancellations 7 days prior forfeit 50% of total stay.
Cancellations in excess of 30 days prior will incur a 10% administration fee to cover banking and handling charges.
Please note that we do consider a cancellation on merit, if it is truly beyond the guests’ control,
and will charge accordingly.
CHECK-IN/OUT TIMES
Check-in: from 14h00 - 19h00
Check-out time: Strictly 10:00.
If rooms are not vacant by check-out time, guests will be charged for an additional day.
Late arrivals: To be arranged with management.
Early arrivals: Early check-in is only possible if the room is ready for occupation. If not, you are welcome to leave your luggage at the guest house while you go out and explore or you are welcome to have a cup of tea and relax in our lounge or garden until your room is ready.
SMOKING POLICY
Smoking is not permitted in the rooms or the manor house, but ashtrays are provided on the private patios. We reserve the right to cancel any booking due to the violation of smoking inside the units rule without a refund.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Guests agree on behalf of themselves and the members of their parties that neither the establishment, its owners, employees nor agents shall be responsible for any injury or death of any person or the loss or destruction of or damage to any property upon the premises, whether arising from fire, theft or any cause and by whomsoever caused or arising from the negligence (gross or otherwise) or wrongful act of any person in the employment of the guesthouse.
Any damage caused by guests to property and premises due to bad behaviour or carelessness, or keys lost and replaced for security reasons will be for the guests account.
Out of respect for neighbours, noise levels should be kept to a minimum. No noise after 22:00, we reserve the right to cancel any booking due to the violation of the noise rule without a refund.

The Owners/Management of Alec Wright Guest Lodge are not liable or do not accept any responsibility for any lost, stolen or damage done to any guest’s property.
